Welcome to the Weekly Market Report, your go-to rundown for all the highs and lows of the week.
Phew, you made it through last weekend! Busy, busy times but you're on the other side and we're (hopefully) in the final stretch of winter before spring is finally here. We've been finalizing our Spring Planner (dropping soon!) and it's got us pretty damn excited for the shifting season...even if today's storm is humbling us a bit.
In the meantime, we've got a lot of exciting specialty additions this week, a Fire Sale you'll want to check out, and some market updates to take note of.
Let's dive in...
THE TL;DR VERSION
Market At A Glance:
🔺Tight & elevated: Leaf and tender items remain under heavy pressure, with lettuce, spinach, celery, carrots, green onions, brassicas, fennel, leeks, Napa, herbs, green beans, squash, corn, and tomatoes all tight due to weather impacts across Yuma, Mexico, and Florida. Expect ongoing prorates, lighter weights, and shorter shelf life through March.
🔻Easing: Grapes remain steady with strong quality and good availability. Pineapple is slightly improved with flexibility on sizing.
➡️ Transitioning: Melons are shifting between Guatemala regions, with sizing variability expected over the next two weeks. Strawberries remain tight from weather and Valentine’s demand, though Mexico/Baja are helping stabilize supply. Bananas and small citrus sizes are on watch as markets tighten heading into March.
🚨Supply Gap — Yuma Transition & Florida Corn Freeze Impact: Yuma’s early wrap and the shift to Salinas are expected to bring 6-8 weeks of volatility on lettuce and brassicas, with tight supply and elevated pricing. We’re also seeing a corn gap following the Florida freeze and are working to secure Mexican supply.
📈 What’s Up?: Weather impacts and regional transitions are driving higher markets across shishitos, cauliflower, broccolini, romaine, iceberg, green beans, Napa cabbage, okra, yellow zucchini, and radishes.
📉 What's Down?: Improving volumes and easing freight are bringing relief across strawberries, mango purée, micro star flowers, cluster tomatoes, Brussels sprouts, and baby eggplant, as greenhouse production normalizes and Mexican supply builds.
🍈 New Arrivals: A few fun specialty additions just landed! Kiwano melons, Etrog lemons, agretti, Maldon salt, and kiwi berries. Plus, 3 new Well Juices listing tomorrow.

Market Recap
What's Up, What's Down
📈Price Increases📈
These items have surged in price this week:
SHISHITO PEPPERS (3019) - Florida’s recent freeze caused significant crop damage, sharply reducing supply. As a result, pricing on quality product has spiked due to extremely limited availability.
CAULIFLOWER, BROCCOLINI, ROMAINE HEART & ICEBERG LETTUCES (2301, 2216, 2689, 2647 & 2655) - Cold temperatures in Yuma are tightening supply and impacting overall yields. Strong demand for limited, high-quality product is driving premium pricing in the market.
GREEN BEANS & NAPA CABBAGE (2153 & 2234) -Severe freeze conditions in Florida significantly damaged the crop, leaving little to no product available out of the state. As a result, demand has shifted to Mexico, where limited supply of quality product has driven prices sharply higher.
OKRA (2844) - Limited volumes of strong-quality product out of Nicaragua and Honduras are tightening overall availability and pushing market pricing higher.
YELLOW ZUCCHINI (3551) - Supply out of the growing region came in short this week, tightening availability and triggering a sharp spike in market pricing.
CELLO RADISH (3201) - Transitioning into U.S. supply as the growing region shifts.
📉Price Drops📉
These items have dropped in price this week:
STRAWBERRIES (3346) - Volume out of both Florida and Mexico is ramping up, with increased berry supply entering the market. As availability improves, pricing is expected to continue trending downward gradually.
MANGO PUREE FROZEN & MICRO STAR FLOWERS (8854 & 5786) - Favourable freight rates are helping ease landed costs and support overall market stability.
CLUSTER TOMAOTES (7382) - Greenhouse supply is beginning to normalize for this time of year, improving overall availability. As volumes build, pricing is expected to gradually ease in the weeks ahead.
BRUSSELS SPROUTS (2225) - Mexican production is ramping up, with supply transitioning away from European product as new crop volumes build.
BABY EGGPLANT (2477) - Greenhouse supply is beginning to normalize for the season, improving availability and putting gradual downward pressure on pricing.
This Just In!
