Welcome to the Weekly Market Report, your go-to rundown for all the highs and lows of the week.
Coming to you a day late because we’ve been BUUUUSY chatting with you face-to-face at the RC Show! If you made it to the show and stopped by our booth, thank you — it was great connecting with so many of you. And to anyone who spent half the morning circling the parking lot… we hope you eventually found a spot and your car made it home safe.
Keeping this week's updates short and sweet! Let's get into what you need to know this week.
THE TL;DR VERSION
Market At A Glance :
🔺Tight & elevated: Cold weather across Mexico, the Florida freeze, and ongoing pressure in Yuma are keeping markets tight on lettuce, celery, green onions, carrots, cauliflower, broccolini, herbs, green beans, and warm veg (corn, cucumbers, squash, peppers). Expect lighter harvests, smaller sizing, prorates, and shorter shelf life.
🔻Easing: Red grapes remain steady with strong supply and quality. Avocado supply has rebounded quickly with good volume out of Mexico, and pineapple availability is improving slightly.
➡️ Transitioning: Strawberry supply is gradually improving as Florida and California ramp up while Mexico winds down. Citrus remains skewed toward larger fruit, leaving smaller sizes tight, and bananas are tightening with strong demand.
🚨Supply Gaps & Risk Areas: Multiple supply risks remain in play. Ongoing frost in Guatemala is tightening French beans, sugar snaps, and snow peas. Security disruptions in Mexican growing regions may reduce volume over the next 3–6 weeks. Honeydew supply is also tightening due to downy mildew in Central America, while lime availability is expected to decline as Veracruz volume drops.
📈 What’s Up?: We're seeing price increases this week on tomatoes, seedless green grapes, Honeycrisp apples, and black plums due to weather impacts, regional transitions, and tightening supply.
📉 What's Down?: We’re seeing price decreases this week on cauliflower, celery, asparagus, Roma tomatoes, iceberg lettuce, and Navel oranges due to improving yields, increased Mexican production, better Yuma quality, and strong California harvest supply.
🌟New Arrivals:Introducing Villani Italian cured meats and Momesso Italian antipasti!
☀️On the Horizon: Forced rhubarb, white and purple asparagus should be arriving in the next few weeks.
🟥 Red Flags: Full details and a few shorts from last week of note below.

Market Recap
What's Up, What's Down
📈Price Increases📈
These items have surged in price this week:
TOMATOES (4674, 4675, 4676) -The recent freeze in Florida has severely impacted these crops, driving steep price increases across both United States and Mexico production. Peak pricing is expected to hold for the next 4–6 weeks.
SEEDLESS GREEN GRAPES (2548) - Increase in market costs due to regional transition. Prices are expected to remain elevated for the next two weeks.
HONEYCRISP APPLES (1939) -Crop transition is resulting in lower yields of smaller fruit. This is expected to continue until the new spring harvest.
BLACK PLUMS (4673) - Final harvest from Chile is producing lower yields, with demand increasing until additional offshore fruit comes to market.
JUMBO CARROTS (2261) - We have transitioned the majority of our volume to Mexican crops for the season.
📉Price Drops📉
These items have dropped in price this week:
CAULIFLOWER & CELERY STALKS (2301 & 2317) -
Market correction due to plentiful yields currently coming out of Mexico.
ASPARAGUS (2093) - Increased production out of Mexico is improving yields across several crops.
ROMA TOMATOES (3431) - The February freeze in Florida continues to impact tomato yields. Prices appear to have peaked and are beginning to decline slightly this week.
ICEBERG LETTUCE (2647, 2655, 2683 & 2700) - Yuma quality has improved significantly, positively impacting yields and lowering pricing.
NAVAL ORANGE (2899) - Market adjustment as harvest yields increase, with strong supply of California Navels meeting demand.

🌟New Arrivals🌟
We've got a few more new vendors we're excited to introduce this week!
Momesso | Italian Antipasti Spreads
First up, we’ve brought in a couple of standout antipasti spreads from Momesso, a Montreal brand rooted in the legacy of the beloved Momesso Italian restaurant (est. 1978). Built on nearly five decades of bold, family-driven flavour, these retail-ready jars deliver authentic Italian taste with the convenience today’s kitchens need.
Packed in 375 mL glass jars with strong shelf appeal, these spreads are ready to use straight from the jar, perfect for pizza, sandwiches, antipasto boards, catering platters, and share plates.
Now Available:
Peperonata Antipasto (12/375 mL) | 12167 – Olive oil–based sweet pepper spread with deep roasted flavour.
Volcano Antipasto (12/375 mL) | 12168 — A bold, spicy tapenade-style spread that adds instant heat and depth.
Great for kitchens and retail shelves looking to add premium Italian flavour to their offering!
We're also excited to introduce several fantastic cured meats from Villani Salumi. Founded in 1886 in Castelnuovo Rangone near Modena, Villani is one of Italy’s oldest charcuterie producers. Now five generations strong, the family-run company is known for traditional Italian salumi crafted with a balance of heritage techniques and modern quality standards.
We've added the following SKUs to our offering, now listed in our catalogue:
Coppa 850g | 12224 – Traditional Emilia-Romagna dry-aged pork coppa, seasoned with garlic and air-cured for three months for rich marbling and deep flavour.
Guanciale 1.5kg | 12227 — Classic Italian guanciale made from pork jowl and slow-cured for three months, prized for its rich fat and essential for authentic carbonara and amatriciana.
Pancetta Nero With Black Pepper 1.7kg | 12225 — Italian pork belly cured with garlic, rolled and aged for four months, finished with a light crust of black pepper for bold flavour and silky texture.
We’ve pulled together our 2026 Spring Planner to help make menu planning a little easier. It includes a snapshot of what’s coming into season and when you can expect key items to land between March and June.
Lettuces & Brassicas —Yuma’s early wrap-up and the transition to Salinas are expected to create 6–8 weeks of volatility and supply gaps across key lettuce and brassica items, with pricing elevated and availability inconsistent through the shift.
Corn —We are currently experiencing limited corn availability due to tight supply in the U.S. and Mexico, with few FOB options meeting our quality standards. We are actively reviewing suitable alternatives to see if we can cover the market.
Campari Tomatoes | 4738 — Greenhouses are struggling to grow this item right now. Gap should last a few weeks.
Last Week's Shorts:
Chocolate Protein Shake | 10997 — Production delay from Greenhouse.
Corn | 2373, 2374 & 6571 — Tight supply across all varieties. Demand for Mexican corn has spiked following the recent Florida freeze, putting additional pressure on the market. We’ve brought in white corn to help offset supply and are continuing to review any available bi-colour. Expect elevated pricing and very tight supply over the next 3 weeks.
