Critical Updates:
🚨Upcoming Holiday Closure: Reminder that we will be closed this Monday, September 7th for Labour Day. Regular service will resume Tuesday, September 8th with all routes open.
🚨Bell Peppers Transitioned to Field: We've transitioned to local Ontario field crops. Over the next week, you may notice some slight off-colouring and a little extra dirt around the stems as we make the transition, but overall quality is good and colouring should improve by next week. Local supply is expected to run through roughly Thanksgiving.
🚨Ontario Strawberry Supply: Ontario strawberries will see supply gaps this week due to wet field conditions impacting harvests, with Quebec and additional Ontario growers being explored as alternate supply.

📈 What’s Up: Prices are up this week on spinach, raspberries & blackberries, Ontario peaches, Bok Choy, and Blonde Frisee.
📉 What’s Down: Prices are down this week on Romanesco and red peppers.

Market Moves This Week
📈Price Increases📈
Prices on these items are trending up this week:
BUNCHED SPINACH (3260) - Quality challenges with local spinach, combined with limited U.S. supply, are driving prices up.
RASPBERRIES (3227) - Tightening demand and higher costs at origin are driving prices up heading into the holiday weekend. Supply is secured, but costs remain elevated this week.
ONTARIO PEACHES (4411) - Local product gapped late last week as fruit was slow to ripen across multiple growers. We pivoted to alternate supply, with inventory now secured and costs expected to stabilize this week.
BLACKBERRIES (2191) - Pricing adjusted due to challenges at origin, with Quebec product being brought in to help offset supply gaps this week.
BOK CHOY (2208) - Limited availability on good quality local bok choy. The recent rains in the fields are affecting the crops.
BLONDE FRISEE (7188) - Warmer weather in Spain is impacting specialty lettuce crops, resulting in limited availability of good-quality product.

Prices on these items are trending down this week:
ROMANESCO (3232) - Transitioned to local Romanesco, bringing prices down.
RED PEPPERS (3007) - Greenhouses are currently carrying excess inventory, keeping prices low for the next couple of weeks.
🚩Red Flags/Shorts:🚩
The biggest supply or quality challenges and updates to be aware of this week, how long we expect them to last, and what we’re doing to keep orders covered.
Yams - Suppliers are reporting a short-term supply gap, expected to last 2–3 weeks until the crop comes back online. Alternative supply is being explored in the meantime.
Torpedo & Round Shallots - Potential shortages, short-term gap upcoming. New crop starts end of September.
Ontario Field Strawberries - Forecasted rain is impacting field conditions and harvests, significantly reducing yields as overly soft fruit cannot be packed. Supply will remain tight this week and will be monitored daily.
