Welcome to the Bondi Weekly Market Report, your go-to for all the highs & lows of the week.
We’ve got some great new arrivals to kick things off. Baby fennel is in — and yes, it’s looking ridiculously cute. Cara Cara oranges have also finally landed, and satsumas and kalettes are dropping next week. Some solid additions to the winter lineup! Big flavour, big colour, big “chef, you NEED this” energy.
Let’s get into it — here’s what’s worth having on your radar this week…
THE TL;DR VERSION
Market At A Glance:
🔺Tight & elevated: Lettuces, cauliflower, broccolini, Brussels sprouts, celery, snow/snap peas, and Roma tomatoes due to weather + seasonal transitions.
🔻Easing: Zucchini, squash, blueberries, broccoli, and cantaloupe/honeydew showing gradual improvement as supply shifts south/offshore.
✅ Peaking: California citrus (navels, lemons, early mandarins), apples, pears, pomegranates, root veg, onions, potatoes, and avocados holding strong.
🚧Watchlist: Sage and basil still tight with weather and demand pressure.
📈 What’s Up?: Prices are rising across Little Gem lettuce, mini sweet peppers, heirloom tomatoes, serranos, ginger, and snow/snap peas as delays, cold weather, and low yields tighten supply across multiple growing regions.
📉 What's Down?: Prices are easing on broccoli, raspberries, taro, Chinese eggplant, asparagus, horseradish, anise, rapini, green grapes, and daikon as stronger yields, improved supply from Mexico and Honduras, and new-crop transitions bring better availability.
🍊 New Arrivals: Baby fennel and Cara Cara oranges landed this week, bringing sweetness, colour, and lift to winter menus.
☀️ On The Horizon: Satsumas and kalettes are arriving next week!
🟥 Red Flags: A few supply watch and shorts from last week to note. Full details below.
🌟Pantry Pick of the Week: Castelvetrano olives — buttery, bright, and available whole or pitted for easy prep.

🍊New Arrivals🍊
Cara Cara Oranges | Code 8444
Our favourite pink–fleshed citrus is officially in season, and honestly… winter just got a whole lot brighter. Cara Caras bring that sweet-meets-tangy flavour chefs obsess over. They've got low acid, big aroma, and that naturally blushed interior.
They’re incredible for segments on salads, crudo, and seafood, but also shine in curds, cocktails, syrups, and desserts. Think all the sunny, juicy flavour of a navel orange but smoother, sweeter, and way more photogenic.
Perfect for adding colour and brightness to winter menus.
New beautiful baby fennel from Babes Farm is listed! All the sweet, aromatic, anise-y goodness of full-size fennel, but in a cuter, teensier, package.
Its petite size makes it perfect for antipasto, small plates, and tasting menus, or anywhere you want that fennel flavour, a bit of finesse, and that “wait… is that fennel? but it’s so tiny??” energy.
Satsumas, a variety of mandarin, are ultra-sweet, seedless, easy-peel, and incredibly aromatic. They’re one of the first true tastes of winter citrus and perfect for desserts, dressings, garnishes, and snacking.
Kalettes are a fun little hybrid of kale and Brussels sprouts with frilly leaves, a tender bite, and a naturally sweet, nutty flavour. They roast beautifully, crisp up like a dream, and add colour and texture to any winter menu.
Satsumas - arriving next week!
Kalettes - arriving next week!

Castelvetranos are the sweet, buttery green olives chefs reach for when they want flavour without the brine punch. Crisp, vibrant, and almost creamy, they’re the olives even “I don’t like olives” people magically end up loving.
Perfect for antipasto, cheese boards, salads, pastas, roasted chicken, seafood, focaccia, or garnishing a very chic dirty martini — to name a few.
We’ve got both whole and pitted available. Just pick what works best for how you’re using them! You can't go wrong.
