Welcome to the Weekly Market Report, your go-to rundown for all the highs and lows of the week.

We're back and hitting your inbox a day late this week as we catch up from the long weekend but hopefully the wait was worth it...

We’ve got a few new additions and hot deals on this week that are worth checking out. We’ve just onboarded a new local greenhouse-grown spring mix from KingsOne Farms out of Kingsville, ON, super fresh, clean, and consistent. Ask your rep if you’d like to grab a sample!

We’ve also just listed some yellow watermelons, McCain tater tots are arriving soon, and promo pricing is still running on JUG canned water. There are also a few sharp clearance deals floating around online that are worth a look before they’re gone.

Market At A Glance: 

• 🔺Tight & elevated: Lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, carrots, fennel, and napa remain tight with prorates and quality concerns persisting. Limes remain tight, especially on larger sizes. Grapes continue to tighten as the offshore season winds down.
• 🔻Easing: Tomato supply is beginning to improve out of Florida and Mexico, with normal levels expected next week. Cantaloupe is plentiful with prices falling. Strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries are all trending up in supply and quality.
• ➡️ Transitioning: Romaine faces severe prorates heading into next week as supply hits its lowest point. Avocados are tapering off Mexican peak with California and South American supply helping offset. Citrus is trending large across varieties, leaving small sizes very tight.

📈 What’s Up?: Price increases this week on romaine lettuce and green and yellow bell peppers due to seasonal transitions.

📉 What's Down?: Price decreases this week on cauliflower, iceberg lettuce, broccolini, green beans, raspberries, grapes, USA peaches, Bosc pears, as supply and field yields improve, additional growing regions ramp up production, and FOB markets continue to ease.

These items have surged in price this week:

• ROMAINE (9072, 2687, 2689, 2696 & 3247) - Poor quality is tightening supply and limiting availability, with elevated pricing expected over the next few weeks.
  
• GREEN & YELLOW PEPPERS (2988 & 3029) - Mexico old crop is wrapping up in the current growing region, creating a short supply gap and driving pricing up on #1 product.

📉Price Drops📉

These items have dropped in price this week:

• USA PEACHES (7549) - Markets are easing with inventory now readily available. 
  
• CAULIFLOWER, BROCCOLINI & ICEBERG LETTUCE (2301, 2216, 2647 & 2655) - California supply is increasing with improved quality and stronger yields, helping drive prices down.
  
• ASPARAGUS (2093) - Local supply coming online.
• GREEN BEANS (2153) - Florida and Georgia supply continues to increase, helping ease markets and lower pricing.
• GREEN GRAPES & BOSC PEARS (2548 & 3150) - Market adjustment to new FOB pricing.
• RASPBERRIES (3227) - Adjustment due to improved field yields.

• Edible Flowers | 2786 — Demand had outpaced supply, but inventories have now caught up and product is readily back in stock.
• Shiso Leaves | 3251 — High demand coupled with quality issues on arrivals has tightened supply, with limited stock currently available.  
• Sprout Micro Mix & Sprout Zesty Mix | 3291 & 4706 — High demand, however substitutions were sourced to help support supply.
