🟥 Supply Watch:  Full details and a few shorts from last week of note below.

🫒 Pantry Pick of the Week: Partanna's Chef Select EVOO.

Market At A Glance

  • 🔺Elevated: Tomatoes, limes, green beans, peas, corn, hot peppers, raspberries, blueberries, broccolini, carrots, green onions, napa, spinach, romaine due to freeze impacts + heat wave pressure affecting yields, shelf life, and availability.

  • 🔻Easing: Avocados (large sizes), cantaloupe, onions, potatoes, artichokes, mini sweet peppers due to steady supply & consistent quality.

  • ➡️ Transitioning:  Lettuce & brassicas moving Yuma → Salinas earlier than usual; watermelon is between import seasons.

  • 🚨Watch List:
    • Small citrus sizes tightening (lemons, navels, mandarins)
    • Bananas are tightening due to global demand + production pressure

What's Up, What's Down

📈Price Increases📈

These items have surged in price this week:

  • GOLD BEETS (2165) - Increase due to transition from CAN/USA product to Mexico as storage crops finish.
  • SERRANO PEPPERS & HOT BANANA PEPEPRS (3696 & 2976) - Limited supply on Mexican peppers in the market is driving prices up.
  • TOMATOES (HOT HOUSE & GRAPE) (7381 & 4643) - Supply is tight; greenhouse output limited and Mexican crops constrained by strong demand.
  • LARGE ROMAS (3431) - Mexican supply is tight as Florida crops lag; elevated pricing expected for another 3–4 weeks.
  • BLUEBERRIES (2193) - Price increase due to switch to new origin (Morocco).

📉Price Drops📉

These items have dropped in price this week:

  • CHINESE EGGPLANT (6835) - Better supply out of Mexico & Dominican is easing prices.
  • ROMAINE HEARTS (2689) - Supply increasing ahead of Salinas transition; pricing currently steady.

  • YELLOW & GREEN ZUCCHINI (3551 & 5490) - Supply improving in current growing region; prices decreasing with stable affordability expected over the next month.

Supply Watch!

🚩Last Week's Shortages🚩

Supply Gaps:

  • Corn — Inventory remains tight and concentrated among a few suppliers, keeping pricing elevated. Expect these conditions to persist over the next 3–4 weeks until additional regions come online.

  • Topo Chico | 7394 — We are having a difficult time sourcing Topo Chico at the moment. We are currently out of stock and there is no ETA on a restock.

Last Week's Shorts:

  • Forced Rhubarb *Ontario* | 4149 — High demand! We have more in stock now.
  • Roots Revival Arugula | 5172 — Increased demand and limited availability from the grower.
  • Basil 4" Pots | 5316 — Some cases experienced cold damage, depleting some inventory. Now back in stock.
  • Perigord Truffles | 12017 — We are reaching the end of Perigord season. We will be transitioning to Burgundy truffles soon.
