Welcome to the Weekly Market Report, your go-to rundown for all the highs and lows of the week.

Man...it's so nice to be writing an email that's not entirely dedicated to talking about gastrointestinal parasites! This week brings much more exciting news with the arrival of Ontario stone fruit. Peaches, nectarines, and apricots have officially landed, plus some other exciting additions.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS WEEK

Critical Updates: 

• 🚨Latest Cyclospora Update: Bondi continues to closely monitor the investigation. While FDA traceback efforts continue to point toward Taylor Farms iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico, no source has been officially confirmed. We have not been notified by any suppliers that products supplied to Bondi are implicated, and we have not purchased Taylor Farms branded shredded iceberg lettuce in the past 60+ days or any shredded iceberg lettuce from Mexico since May 1, 2026.
• 🚨Upcoming Holiday Closure: Bondi will be closed on Monday, August 3rd for the Civic Holiday. Regular service will resume Tuesday, August 4th. Please adjust your orders accordingly!
• 🚨Melon supplies are improving! Cantaloupes have nearly returned to normal with strong quality, while honeydews continue to improve but remain tighter, especially on certain sizes.

Market Moves:

• 📈 What’s Up: Expect higher pricing this week on celery, pecans and bell peppers.

• 📉 What’s Down: Pricing is easing this week on Thai green chilis, green beans, cantaloupe, romaine hearts, cauliflower, raspberries and parsley.

Product Updates:

• 🍑 New Arrivals: Ontario peaches, nectarines, and apricots have arrived, joined by Ontario green beans and blackberries, plus beautiful orange and purple cauliflower from Quebec and California red and black plums.

•  🔜 Coming Soon: Ontario plums are expected in the next few weeks!

• 🚫Finished: Red Fresno and Jimmy Nardello peppers are finished for the season.

📈Price Increases📈

These items have surged in price this week:

• CELERY STALKS (2317) - California supply has increased, putting downward pressure on pricing.
• PECAN HALVES (2829) - Lower seasonal supply and continued strong demand are driving prices higher.
• RED, ORANGE & YELLOW BELL PEPPERS (2829, 3000 & 2028) - Extreme heat has put pressure on greenhouse production, while retail promotions have increased demand, driving market prices higher.
  

📉Price Drops📉

These items have dropped in price this week:

• GREEN THAI CHILI PEPPERS (3024) - Improved availability and quality from the Dominican Republic.
• GREEN BEANS (2153) - Local Ontario harvest has begun.
• JUMBO CANTALOUPE (2250) - Improved California supply has brought pricing down.
• ROMAINE HEARTS & CAULIFLOWER (2687, 2689 & 2301) - Lettuce quality & supply are improving, easing prices.
• RASPBERRIES (3227) - Improved supply has eased pressure on raspberries, bringing relief after two weeks of elevated pricing.
• CURLY & ITALIAN PARSLEY (2941 & 2945) - Improved California supply has brought pricing down.

 🚩Last Week's Shorts:🚩

• Chives | 2342 - Flight delays and heat-related quality issues continue to constrain supply.
• Shiitake Mushrooms & Sunburst Squash | 2786 & 3328 - Increased demand and slower crop growth due to heat have pushed pricing higher. 
  
• 3.5% Milk Gaylea & Greek Plain Yogurt 0% | 6825 & 6162 - Delivery issues resulted in delayed arrival, back in stock now.
  
• Mozzarella Fonterra Shredded | 8236 - Packing delays at the manufacturer have been resolved, and the item is now back in stock.
• Ontario Apricots | 7683 - Heat has reduced first-harvest yields, limiting early-season supply. Product is currently available, but expect a shorter harvest window.
• Sprout Basil | 7757 - Heat-related quality issues across multiple growers have been resolved, and cut and living products are now readily available.
• Passion Fruit Puree | 7864 & 8853 - A spike in demand and transportation delays have temporarily tightened supply. Inventory is expected to arrive this week.
