Welcome to the Bondi Weekly Market Report — your go-to for all the highs & lows of the week.

 

Fall has officially made its entrance: cooler mornings, heartier produce, and that unmistakable shift toward comfort cooking. This week marks the first harvest of specialty Honeynut squash, and for those as fall-obsessed as we are, our seasonal décor is now open for pre-order — pumpkins, gourds, and corn flints ready to bring a little harvest spirit to your dining rooms and patios.

📈 What’s Up?: Price increases this week on Tajín seasoning, Valentine radishes, heirloom tomatoes, and blueberries, driven by freight costs, tight supply, and regional shifts.

📉 What’s Down?: Lower prices this week on asparagus, red seedless grapes, limes, and local orange and yellow bell peppers.

📈Price Increases📈

These items have surged in price this week:

  • TAJIN SEASONING (6239) - Tajín pricing is up this week, driven by higher freight costs.

  • VALENTINE RADISH (3218) - Tight supply out of Mexico, with elevated markets expected through October.

  • HEIRLOOM TOMATOES (3423) - Local growers are in a production gap, with shorter days leading to reduced yields.

  • BLUEBERRIES (2193) - As supply transitions from BC to Mexico and Peru, blueberry markets are moving higher.

📉Price Decreases📉

These items have dropped in price this week:

  • ASPARAGUS (2093) - Supply has improved with the addition of a new California supplier.

  • RED SEEDLESS GRAPE (2553) - Red grapes are down in price this week thanks to a new supplier and excess product available.

  • LIMES (2718 & 2720) - Smaller lime sizes seeing stronger availability with the new crop shifting into 230s and 250s.

  • ORANGE & YELLOW PEPPERS (3000 & 3028) - Solid supply from fields and greenhouses on yellow and orange peppers. Stability should hold for another 2–3 weeks.

Honeynut Squash 20lb Case | Code 7885

Think of it as butternut’s sweeter, smaller cousin. Honeynut squash packs all the rich, nutty flavour chefs love in a compact size that roasts beautifully, purées silky-smooth, and looks right at home on Thanksgiving menus.

Grown locally and available in 20lb cases, this is a true seasonal gem. But be quick — the window is short, with only about a month of availability.

Supply Gap:

  • B&W Red Watercress | Code 4479 — Weather-related crop issues have led the supplier to prorate orders; supply isn’t expected to normalize until November.

Last Week's Shorts:


  • B&W Arugula | Code 2085 — Stronger demand resulting in a short last week but we've adjusted orders to account for this going forward.
  • Asparagus | Code 2093 — Next shipment has been increased to keep up with stronger demand.
  • Edible Flowers | Code 2505 — High demand combined with delayed arrivals on both primary and substitute SKUs is creating shorts.
  • Blue Coronation Grapes | Code 3745 — Ontario coronation grapes are winding down for the season resulting in more limited supply.
  • Dragon Fruit | Code 8218 — Extremely tight market as containers from Vietnam are delayed — awaiting arrivals.
  • Pineapple (Crownless) | Code 5261 — Supply is limited, but we’re looking into local backups.
  • Tofu (Extra Firm) | Code 3385 — Shipment was delayed by a day, but we’re good to go from here.
  • Pistachio (No-Shell) | Code 8546 — Surge in demand cleared us out last week, but supply has been replenished.
  • Topo Chico | Code 7394 —  Incorrect product shipped to us resulting in temporary shortage. Back in stock now!
